Coherent Emergentism is a comprehensive theory of reality, which proposes that all existence is grounded in the formation, persistence, and evolution of coherent structures. The core idea is that only those forms which are internally consistent and capable of sustaining themselves within networks of interaction can continue to exist and evolve into more complex wholes.
Unlike traditional theories that rely on external causes, fixed substances, or mathematical axioms, Coherent Emergentism assumes nothing pre-given. It starts from the idea that reality exists because its nonexistence would be incoherent. Thus, reality requires no external explanation – its existence follows from its own internal coherence.
Coherence manifests at many levels: in quantum superpositions, biological systems, consciousness, society, and even in the laws of nature. Emergence describes how these coherent structures generate new properties and systems that cannot be reduced to their individual parts.
Coherent Emergentism offers an alternative perspective to both science and philosophy by uniting the necessity of existence, internal consistency, and dynamic development into a single guiding principle.
The Origin of the Theory
Coherent Emergentism began to take shape as I was outlining a book meant to bring together the core themes of Global Visions, an association I founded. During the writing process, I also began testing my ideas about the nature of reality with the help of ChatGPT. The feedback I received was so encouraging and insightful that I was inspired to fully immerse myself in developing the theory over the course of several intense weeks.
ChatGPT was especially helpful in organizing, refining, and applying my ideas, but all new concepts and breakthroughs are entirely my own. As the theory progressed, it became clear that it represented such a promising and compelling framework that it deserved to be published as a standalone work. This realization led me to create a dedicated website, social media channels, and videos about the theory. I hope the theory will also inspire others to explore whether its ideas can be modeled mathematically or even empirically validated.
